i woke up this morning and was flipping through the basic cable available adjacent to my friend's couch when i came across an episode of jack hanna's animal adventures. in this episode, mr. hanna visits a koala bear sanctuary of sorts in australia, where one has the opportunity to hold and take pictures with a koala bear. i would like to do this once in my lifetime. i don't even have to be in australia for more than a day, as i could return home content with a few moments of koala kuddlin'.

364 days out of the year, i am tormented by children. They call me names, remind me that I'm ugly, and show me their cell phones, reminding not only myself, but my electronics that we are aged and ready to check into retirement.
However, 1 day out of the year, I am appreciated and adored by children with names like "Sarah Ko."
These "Sarah Ko' types do nice things, like make us t-shirts that remind us that we are appreciated at least one day out of our miserable years.

today, I endulged.
I purchased David Sedaris' new book, I went to the gym, I played with my dog for a moment, then I went into work where I was paid to think. From there I went to a quick meal at Rubio's with my coworker, where we conversed about starting a thrash band for fun. Then I went to class and switched gears between reading and watching Cinema Paradiso, a fantastic film. I ended the evening at Pinkberry, which was transported to the most competitively priced gas station on the way home, where I enjoyed my treat under restless gas station signs, appalled by the price of my tank, but quickly satiated into stoicity, reflecting on what a marvelous day I had, disregarding the fact that I'd complain about spending five dollars on a gallon of gasoline, yet I handed it over so willingly for a relentless and now empty portion of frozen yogurt.
more days should be like this. |

Yesterday I spent my entire day in LA. LA being like all of LA. I started off at USC/Downtown-ish, went north to K-town, the Grove, Westwood, J-town, Century City, and Beverly Hills. I exhausted seeing every different demographic, and in the process had some delicious Peruvian food which I dedicate completely to Linda because she's the only Peruvian I know. Anyways, I'm slowly warming up to the idea of living there, but i don't know about forever.
